Working effectively in a team requires both knowledge and experience. Technically, a team could include an initiator, an informer, an opinion seeker, a devil’s advocate, a clarifier, a summarizer, a resource investigator, a completer, and a recorder. It is useful to divide these roles amongst your team members based on team requirements. Each individual plays an important role in making the team functionally effective.

In this unit, you will be completing the course and reporting on the work that you have done as part of a team in order to finish your Group Project implementation. Learning from experience is excellent; however, to do this well, you need to reflect on your experience, discuss it with your peers, and, ideally, write it up succinctly, learning by rehearsal.

The concept of providing feedback to your peers is excellent; you learn from each other, and you also learn to take constructive criticism and, hopefully, not to tolerate negative criticism, either from yourself or from other team members. A better approach is to identify challenges and opportunities and provide constructive suggestions—the skills of a practiced team leader.

Providing feedback, once again, involves practicing. Go over what you have partially learned, think about it, discuss it, and move it from short-term memory into long-term memory.
